Owl Cove Cafe: Hidden Gem of a Lunch Special in Santa Clara

Thursday, October 7th, 2010

Colleges with culinary programs often have student operated restaurants.  Today we tried one of them in Santa Clara, CA (over by Yahoo) for lunch.  Owl Cove Cafe at Mission College has lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays where each student prepares a menu and manages the kitchen and restaurant.  I have to say, it was the best lunch deal around.  We had the choice of many entree options such as Braised Pork Chops with Peas and pancetta and Mushroom Risotto or Squash Lasagna with goat cheese and fried sage served with bread, salad, soap, dessert, a soft drink, and coffee all for $7 or $8!

Tater Tots in my Breakfast Burrito: Henry’s in Santa Clara

Friday, March 26th, 2010

Henry’s is a Santa Clara University favorite.   They have the greatest breakfast burrito around.  After trying many others about town, we fell back on Henry’s great tasting, awesome tater-tot filled breaky burrito!
